Blackcloud Railways

We take friends and relatives for granted as always going to be there and consequently don't point the camera at them more often. Take a picture of somebody you know today!

You may be wondering where Blackcloud comes from. The name originated many years ago in the Carters and Motormen's Social Club and is due to my rather cynical outlook on life. The club is now, sadly, long gone but the nickname lives on as the title of my model railway collection which includes several small layouts available for exhibitions within reasonable travelling distance of Sandbach, junction 17 on the M6.

I am a member of Cheshire Railway Modellers, the on-line model railway club has a unique OO scale modular layout which can be exhibited around the North West and is also building a larger scale version in On30.

For exhibitions and open days I am currently using mainly the On30 scale Pampas & Fernandez and the OO scale CRM modules but the other layouts are also available with the exceptions of Altgarten, which is undergoing renovation, and the On30 modules which are still under construction.

The On30 modules will be available from early 2010, their debut exhibition being at Crewe in January. Enquiries from exhibition managers regarding any of the layouts are welcome by email.
